Dhunn Hindi Pop Album

Sreejith Edavana Born and raised in a buzzing and historically rich city Tripunithura, Cochin was my home till 2006 after which I moved to Chennai to pursue the love of my life, music! Since then, I have worked and assisted many talented and well known music directors. Yuvvh which was my maiden project happened in 2012 and there has been no turning back since then. Yuvvh song “nenjodu cherthu” starring Nivin Pauly and Nazriya became an instant hit with youngsters and everyone alike and crossed 1.4 million views within 4 months of its release. Next was a Malayalam project called Love Policy.

Oscar contention in 2013 for Original songs and scores for Kamasutra 3D was a moment of great pride and honor. My next rendition was for a Malayalam movie –Madhura Naranga, the tracks of which were well received for its soothing melodies. Some of my current projects include Meow, Yaali (Tamil) and scores for a Marathi movie.

A project which is the closest to my heart and my dream project is Dhunn. My heart and soul went into the making of Dhunn. Dhunn which means Rhythm, Rhythm of love comprises of seven songs which are about the seven shades of love. It is a Hindi Pop album with western classical and jazz. The lyrics of Dhunn is by Chandan Kataria and composition is by me. The songs have been rendered by Sooraj Santhosh, Shwashwat singh, Saptaparna Chakraborthy, Roshni Suresh, Neha Venugopal and myself. An interesting fact about Dhunn is that it is the first Hindi album which is releasing in Chennai. Dhunn is a humble effort by me in trying to promote independent music . It all started with yuvvh which was my first step towards this goal. In India independent music is still niche and today, much smaller in comparison to what is was in early nighties. It is intriguing to know that the international scene for independent music is huge in comparison to filmy music. I strongly feel music should not be limited to films only and my approach will be to drive this thought
