கொஞ்சம் பழைய சங்கதிகள் தெரிந்தவர்களுக்கு தற்போது கட்டப்பட்டு வரும் அர்ஜுனின் ஆஞ்சநேயர் கோவில் ஆச்சர்யத்திலும் ஆச்சர்யமளிக்கும். அறியாதவர்களுக்கு எப்படியோ? போகட்டும்… நாம் அறிந்ததை சொல்லிவிடுவதுதானே நல்லது.
சென்னை சாலிகிராமத்தில் ஒரு பங்களா இருந்தது அர்ஜுனுக்கு. அந்த பங்களாவை கட்டுவதற்கு முன்பிருந்தே வாசல் பகுதியில் ஒரு அம்மன் கோவிலும் இருந்தது. வீடு கட்ட நிலத்தை அளந்த அர்ஜுன், அந்த அம்மன் கோவில் தன் நிலத்திற்கு உள்ளே வருவதாக கருதினார். இருந்தாலும் கோவிலை சேதப்படுத்த மனமில்லை. ஆனால் கோவிலை சுற்றி வர பிரகாரம் என்று சொல்லப்படும் நடைபாதை வேண்டுமல்லவா? அதற்கு இடம் வைக்காமல் தன் வீட்டை கட்டி முடித்துவிட்டார்.
இது இயல்பாக நடந்ததா, அல்லது இறைவனின் விளையாட்டா தெரியவில்லை. அன்றிலிருந்து தினந்தோறும் பாம்புகள் வர ஆரம்பித்துவிட்டன அர்ஜுனின் வீட்டுக்குள். முதலில் விரட்டியும் பின்பு அடித்தும் அதற்கப்புறம் வன இலாகாவினருக்கு போன் போட்டு நச்சரித்தும் வாழ்ந்த அர்ஜுன் ஒரு கட்டத்தில் தொல்லை பொறுக்க முடியாமல் வீட்டையே காலி பண்ணிவிட்டு ஓடினார்.
அப்படிப்பட்ட அர்ஜுன்தான் கோடிக்கணக்கில் செலவு செய்து கெருகம்பாக்கத்திலிருக்கும் தனது சொந்த நிலத்தில் மிக பிரமாண்டமான ஆஞ்சநேயர் கோவிலை கட்டி வருகிறார். 2006 ம் ஆண்டிலிருந்து இந்த கோவில் கட்டும் திருப்பணியை செய்து வருகிறார் அர்ஜுன். கர்நாடக மாநிலம் கொய்ரா என்ற ஊரிலிருந்து ஒரே கல்லில் செய்யப்பட்ட இந்த சிலையை அண்மையில்தான் சென்னைக்கு வரவழைத்தார் அவர். இந்த சிலையின் உயரம் 35 அடி.
Arjun was young then, matured now!
Arjun is constructing a Hanuman temple at Gerugambakkam near Chennai spending crores of rupees. He has a bought and brought a specially made Anjaneya idol, made of single stone, with a height of about 35 feet, from a village called Koira, in Karnataka. Well it shows his good intentions and spiritualism in him. While at the same time, we would like to contrast his amateurish act when he was young. Arjun was at his peak and much talked about, when he bought a house in Saligramam. There was an Amman temple near his house which according to him intruded in to his land and building. Though not to damage the temple, he left it as it is, but did construct a compound wall thereby preventing any way for ‘prakaram’ (walking path around the temple for doing prathakshnam) for devotees of the temple. He was quite often disturbed by snakes entering his home at odd hours. While he called snake charmers and forest personnel to help him preventing snakes entering his house, he did attack some snakes too. But all his efforts went futile and ultimately he vacated the house. The point here is when he was young his thought was not to share a portion of the land to a temple for use by its devotees, while when he is matured with age, he volunteers his own land for constructing a full temple.
