கனடாவை கலக்கிய ‘A Gun and a Ring’ – ரஜினி படத்தை விட இதற்குதான் கூட்டமாம்…

நம்மை போன்ற உள்ளூர் தமிழர்களுக்கு இப்படத்தை காணும் பாக்கியம் வாய்க்குமா தெரியாது. ஆனால் கனடிய தமிழர்களுக்கும் புலம் பெயர்ந்த தமிழர்களில் பெரும்பாலானவர்களுக்கும் அந்த பாக்கியம் கிட்டியிருக்கிறது. படத்தின் பெயர் ‘A Gun and a Ring’ புலம்பெயர் தமிழரான லெனின் பி.சிவம் இயக்கியிருக்கும் இந்த திரைப்படம், பெரும் எழுச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியிருப்பதாக தெரிவிக்கின்றன கனடாவிலிருந்து வரும் தகவல்கள்.

வெறும் வலிகளை மட்டுமே சுமந்தபடி நாடு கடந்து சென்ற ஒவ்வொரு தமிழனின் மனசிலும் எண்ணிலடங்கா ஏமாற்றங்களும், அதற்கு நிகரான சம்பவங்களும் இருக்கின்றன. இவர்களது நம்பிக்கையில் அடுக்கடுக்காக விழும் கோடலி வெட்டுகள் இன்னும் தொடர்கின்றன என்பதுதான் வேதனை. ஆனால் எல்லா வலிகளுக்கும் மாற்று மருந்து உண்டு. இந்த ஒன்றை நம்பிதான் இன்னும் இயங்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள் இவர்கள்.

கதைகள் மனசுக்குள்ளிருக்கும் போது அவற்றை வேறெங்கே தேடிப் போக வேண்டும்? தன்னை சுற்றி நடக்கும் சம்பவங்களையே கதையாக எழுதி படமாக வடித்திருக்கிறாராம் லெனின். நிச்சயம் செய்த கணவனால் விமான நிலையத்தில் தவிக்க விடப்படும் ஒரு பெண், மகனின் தற்கொலையால் துயரத்திற்கு ஆளாகும் பெற்றோர், பாலியல் பலாத்காரத்திற்காக கடத்தப்படும் சமூக சேவகரின் மகள், மகன், இவர்களுடன் குற்ற உணர்வால் தவிக்கும் போலீஸ் அதிகாரி, போரினால் குடும்பத்தை இழந்த சூடான் அகதி இவர்களின் கனத்த பின்னணியோடு கதை நகர்வதாக குறிப்பிடுகிறார்கள் ‘மோதிரமும், துப்பாக்கியும்’ படம் பார்த்தவர்கள்.

சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினியின் திரைப்படங்கள் வெளியாகிற போது எவ்வளவு கூட்டம் கூடுமோ, அதையெல்லாம் விட பல மடங்கு கூட்டம் கூடி கனடாவை திணறடித்துவிட்டார்களாம் ரசிகர்கள். கண்டிப்பாக ஒரு ஷோ மட்டும் என்று விளம்பரம் செய்து இப்படத்தை வெளியிட்டிருக்கிறார் லெனின். முதலில் மூன்று தியேட்டர்கள் ஒதுக்கப்பட்டதாம். அங்கு வசிக்கும் ஒட்டு மொத்த தமிழர்களும் கூடிவிட்டதால் மேலும் ஒரு தியேட்டரையும் ஒதுக்க வேண்டியதாக இருந்ததாம். 1999 க்கு பிறகு மக்கள் அதிகம் கூடியது இந்த திரைப்படத்திற்குதான் என்கிறது அங்கிருந்து வரும் செய்திகள்.

சீனாவில் நடைபெற்ற திரைப்பட விழாவிலும் மொன்ரியல் திரைப்பட விழாவிலும் சிறந்த திரைப்படம் என்ற அடையாளத்தை பெற்றிருக்கிறது இப்படம். ஷாங்காய் பிலிம் பெஸ்டிவெல் உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு பட விழாக்களுக்கு தேர்வாகிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் ‘A Gun and a Ring’ போரில் துப்பாக்கி பிடிக்க மட்டுமல்ல, நிஜத்தில் கேமிரா பிடிக்கவும் தெரியும் என்பதை உலகத்திற்கு சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது. படத்தின் நேர்த்தியை மட்டுமல்ல, அதன் உள்ளடக்கமான உணர்வுகளையும் உலகம் புரிந்து கொண்டால் போதும்…

A Gun and a Ring hit the bull’s eye in Canada

A Gun and a Ring is the film by Lenin. P. Sivam, a Tamil origin but living in Canada. He has produced and directed the film A Gun and the Ring. He has nicely entwined the lives of people of various walks of life and their stuggle in a foreign land and how their trials and turbulance are faced and mitigated and how their one common syndrome, ‘the HOPE’ drives them to take up the challenges. It is the story of a wife who was lost by her husband at an international airport, parents who suffer at the loss of their son’s suicide, a young girl who was abducted by a gang who indulgue in flesh-trade, a refugee who lost his family in the war in Sudan, and a police official who is suffering at the guilty conciousness in him. He has blended their tales in an absorbing way. The film received overwhelming response from the audience as the entire Tamil populations gathered to watch the movie. It is said that after 1999 this was the only film where people congregated in large numbers to watch the film. It was already screened at China film festival and Montreal Film Festival, and expected to show case in other Film Festivals too. The director P Sivam through this film has made it known to lakhs of people who go to foreign shores, can shine, through dedication and hard work with patience.
