பண்ணைபுரத்தின் இசைக் காற்று உலகம் முழுக்க வீசிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது! இந்த ஒரு பெருமை போதும் அந்த கிராமத்திற்கு. ஆனால் அந்த மண்ணில் பிறந்து தன் இசையால் தமிழுலகத்தையே தாலாட்டிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் இளையராஜாவுக்கு தன் சொந்த மண்ணில் ஒரு கச்சேரி நடத்திவிட வேண்டும் என்கிற ஆசை இருக்குமல்லவா? சுமார் இருபத்தைந்து வருடத்திற்கு முன்பே அந்த ஆசையை அவர் நிறைவேற்றிக் கொண்டாலும், அவரது வாரிசுகளுக்கு இப்போது அந்த ஆசை வந்து மீண்டும் அப்பாவை உசுப்பியிருக்கிறார்கள்.
ஆனால் கடந்த முறை கச்சேரி நடத்திய போதே வயல்களையும் தோட்டத்தையும் அழித்துவிட்டு அங்கு கச்சேரி நடத்தினார்களாம் ஊர் பெரிசுகள். இந்த முறை இளையராஜாவின் கச்சேரி என்றால் அந்த சின்ன கிராமம் தாங்காதே? அதனால் மதுரையில் நடத்தப் போகிறார்கள். ‘ஏப்ரல் 5 ந் தேதி மதுரை தமுக்கம் மைதானத்தில் நடைபெறும் இந்த கச்சேரி முழுக்க முழுக்க எங்கள் அப்பாவை இந்த உலகத்திற்கு தந்த பண்ணைபுர மண்ணுக்காகதான்’ என்கிறார் கார்த்திக் ராஜா. இளையராஜாவின் மூத்த வாரிசு.
‘அப்பாவுக்கு உடம்பு சரியில்லாமல் ஆஸ்பத்திரியில் இருந்தபோது வந்த முதல் போன் கால் பண்ணைபுரத்திலிருந்துதான். அதற்கப்புறம் வரிசையாக என் செல்போனில் பேசிக் கொண்டேயிருந்தார்கள். அவர்களின் பாசத்தை அன்றுதான் நான் முழுமையாக உணர்ந்தேன். அவர்களுக்காக… அப்பாவை கொண்டு போய் அவர்கள் முன் நிறுத்த வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக…. மட்டும்தான் இந்த கச்சேரி. மதுரையிலிருந்து பண்ணைபுரம் இரண்டு மணி நேரப் பயணம் என்றாலும், தனி பேருந்துகளில் அந்த கிராமத்தையே மதுரைக்கு கொண்டு வரப்போகிறோம் என்றார் கார்த்திக் ராஜா.
ராஜாவின் இசையில் இதுவரைக்கும் பாடிய அத்தனை பாடகர்களும் அன்று வர இருக்கிறார்களாம். எல்லாரையும் அழைத்திருக்கிறார் கார்த்திக்ராஜா. ஒரு பெரிய குழுவே இந்த கச்சேரிக்காக செயல்பட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது. ஆயிரக்கணக்கான பாடல்கள் இருப்பதால் முத்து முத்தான பாடல்களை தேர்வு செய்வதே பெரும் வேலையாக இருக்கிறதாம்.
பண்ணை புரத்தில் பிறந்தவர்கள் ‘கொடுத்தவர்கள்’. மதுரையில் பிறந்தவர்கள் ‘கொடுத்து வைத்தவர்கள்’.
Ilayaraja’s great gesture to his native people!
Pannayapuram a small village near Madurai is blessed for two reasons – one, it has given to the world a musician (read maestro Ilayaraja) who mesmerised the entire universe through his enchanting tunes filled with melody and rhythms; the second, one of the sons of Pannayapuram is grateful enough for the love and affection to him at any point of time, irrespective of the circumstances. It is indeed a great tribute for Pannayapuram and its people.
When Maestro Ilayaraja fell sick and admitted to hospital, the first phone call about his well being was received from Pannayapuram, disclosed Karthik Raja, the eldest of Ilayaraja’s sons. He organised a press meet on 5th Feb. to brief about the ‘live concert’ that is going to be held in Madurai for the people of Pannayapuram and also people from Madurai. It is said that the music concert will be much bigger and grandeur than the one held in Malaysia few months back. The musical programme is scheduled to be held at Thamukkam Grounds in Madurai on 5th April. It is titled aptly as Raajavin Sangeetha Thirunal, when Ilayaraja is going to mesmerise the people with his haunting melodies.
“This live concert is for the people of Pannaiapuram” declared Karthik Raja while giving the details of the programme. “I am quite touched by the love, affection and their concern towards my father, and wanted to do something to show my gratitude. This is the least I could do, to arrange a grand musical event”, said Karthik Raja in emotion filled voice.
The programme was originally planned at Pannayapuram, but since it could not accommodate the huge gathering, they are organising it at Thamukkam grounds, near Madurai. The event will see the entire family come and play live on the stage, said Karthik with pride.
Popular singers including, Shalini, Anita, Arunmozhi, Surender and many other singers will participate and render the songs. Karthik also disclosed that those songs that were not played on stage are the special ones for the event. It appears selecting those songs out of thousands of songs itself is a big task.
Those who are going to see the even live in person are the ones who are fortunate indeed.
The proceeds out of the programme will be put to use for the construction activity of a school in Pannayapuram.
