‘அழகான ஹீரோக்களை கூட அழுக்காக்கி காட்டுவது பாலாவின் ஸ்டைல். வில்லேஜ் ஹீரோவான சசிகுமாரை அஜீத் விஜய் சூர்யா மாதிரி ஸ்டைலாக காட்டினால் அதுதான் என்னோட பாணி’. இப்படியொரு டைரக்டரே சொன்னால் நாமெல்லாம் கைதட்டி மகிழத்தான் வேண்டும். ஏனென்றால் சொன்னவர் ‘பிரம்மன்’ பட இயக்குனர் சாக்ரடீஸ். கமல்ஹாசனிடம் உதவி இயக்குனராக இருந்த சாக்ரடீசுக்கு சசிகுமாரை வைத்து படம் இயக்க வேண்டும் என்பதுதான் பெரும் கனவு. ‘சுப்ரமணியபுரம்’ பார்த்த நாளில் இருந்தே இப்படி வெறி பிடித்து அலைந்தவர் அதே வேகத்தில் ஒரு கதையை உருவாக்கி அதற்கு திரைக்கதை, வசனமெல்லாம் கூட எழுதிவிட்டார். ஆனால் சசிகுமாரை நெருங்கி கதை சொல்வதுதான் சாக்ரடீசால் முடியவே முடியாத கதையாக இருந்தது.
ஏன்? தான் படம் பண்ணுகிற அளவுக்கு சந்தர்ப்பம் சரியாக அமைந்தாலொழிய யாரிடமும் கதை கேட்பதில்லையாம் சசிகுமார். அவர் வேறு இயக்குனர்களிடம் கதை கேட்டது மூன்றே பேரிடம்தான். அந்த மூணு பேருக்குமே அவர் படம் கொடுத்துவிட்டார். அதில் நானும் ஒருத்தன் என்கிறார் சாக்ரடீஸ். ஆனால் சசியை நெருங்கவே கிட்டதட்ட இரண்டு வருடங்கள் ஆனதாம். அதற்கு முன்பே இவருக்கு தயாரிப்பாளர் ரெடி. கன்னட தயாரிப்பாளரான கே.மஞ்சு இவரிடம் கதையை கேட்டு திருப்தியானாராம்.
சசிகுமாரிடம் கதை சொல்லி கால்ஷீட் வாங்கிடலாம் சார் என்று நம்பிக்கை கொடுத்துவிட்டு திரும்பிய சாக்ரடீஸ் அதற்கப்புறம் ஒன்றரை வருடங்கள் கழித்துதான் அவரிடம் கதை சொல்ல முடிந்தது. நடுவில் சசிகுமாரின் ஆசிரியர்களை தேடி அவர்களது சிபாரிசின் பேரிலும் சசிகுமார் வீட்டு கதவை தட்டியிருக்கிறார் இவர். அதற்கும் நோ ரெஸ்பான்ஸ். எப்படியோ எடிட்டர் ராஜாமுகமது புண்ணியத்தில் சசியை சந்தித்து இந்த கதையை சொல்ல, ஆஹா…என்றாராம் அவர். அதற்கப்புறம் உருவானதுதான் பிரம்மன்.
தயாரிப்பாளர் கே.மஞ்சு என்ன சொல்கிறார்? கதையை கேட்டுட்டு ஒரு மணி நேரத்திலேயே இந்த படம் பண்ணலாம்னு சொல்லிட்டேன். குறிப்பிட்ட பட்ஜெட்டுக்குள்ளே படத்தை முடிக்கலாம்னு சொன்ன சாக்ரடீஸ், அதையெல்லாம் தாண்டி பெரிய பட்ஜெட்ல கொண்டு வந்து விட்டுட்டார். 90 நாளில் முடியவேண்டிய ஷுட்டிங் 120 நாளில்தான் முடிந்தது. இருந்தாலும் படம் திருப்தியா வந்திருக்கு. நானே சொந்தமா ரிலீஸ் பண்ணப்போறேன். மதுரை ஏரியாவை மட்டும் எங்கிட்ட கொடுத்துருங்க என்றார் சசிகுமார். நீங்களே ஹீரோ… அதுக்காக ஏரியா விலையெல்லாம் குறைக்க முடியாதுன்னேன். சொன்ன விலையை கொடுத்து வாங்கிட்டார். அவருக்கு நன்றி என்றார் தயாரிப்பாளர்.
என் உடல் உள்ளவரை, உயிர் உள்ளவரை, மண் உள்ள வரை, விண் உள்ளவரை சசிகுமாரையும் தயாரிப்பாளர் மஞ்சுவையும் மறக்கவே மாட்டேன் என்று நெஞ்சமெல்லாம் விம்மியழுது கண் கலங்க உறுதிமொழி சொன்னார் சாக்ரடீஸ்.

Director Socretes says it took 2 years to rope in Sasikumar!
Director Socretes took two full years to rope in Sasikumar in his upcoming film Brahmman. He said he was very much impressed with Sasikumar’s performance in Subramanyapuram and immediately had decided to do a film with him. He wrote the story, screen play and the dialogues and met Kannada film producer K. Manju and narrated him the story. The producer immediately gave consent to produce the film. But he told the producer he has written the story for Sasikumar, and would take his confirmation and get back to him.
He tried to contact Sasikumar through his teachers and other known people close to him, but the audience was not forthcoming to him. After nearly one and a half years, through editor Raja Mohammed, he finally got the opportunity to meet the Sasikumar. When he told him the story, without battling the eyelids, Sasikumar gave his consent to go ahead with the film.
While it is director Bala’s style to showcase even the good looking artistes in shabby costumes and characters, it is my style to show Sasikumar a rustic hero in modern costumes and character, avers Socretes.
Before ending his speech Socretes became emotional when he said that he would never forget the help and kindness of Sasikumar and the producer, till his last breath.
Producer Manjunath has said that he was impressed with the story line of the director and gave his consent to produce the film instantly. However he took two years to start making the film. Though the director could not make it to the budget he had given me, he is completely satisfied with the output, he pointed out. He then decided to distribute the film by himself. Sasikumar was asking for Madurai area distribution and when I quoted the price he immediately agreed to pay the price, he added.
