Maestro Ilayaraja to turn to direction
We all know the capabilities of Maestro Ilayaraja with whom the swara and laya are always in love so deeply that they don’t leave him for a moment. While that is a great strength for a music composer, there is also a small handicap for Ialayaraja – his emotions are his villain. A director of a film needs to undergo lots of trials and turbulence, strains and pressures, till the film gets released and accepted by the critics and audience. With the sort of temperaments Isai Gnani has, one wonders how it would be possible for him to endure such pressures and strains. Of course, we have seen him as a film producer as well as a story writer. But direction demands much more than the efforts of other professions. Why this prelude is because we hear that Ilayaraja is contemplating to turn to direction this time, for music based story. We are sure he would keep his emotions away during his debutant ship of a director, and focus his attention on the subject alone, ignoring the happenings around him.
