CHENNAI SINGAPORE’
‘Chennai Singapore’ is a Kollywood feature movie venture, which is backed by Media Development Authority Singapore and produced by Comicbook Films India Private Limited.
With this production, it is hoped that Singapore will be a key destination in the future for many more Kollywood ventures.
This movie features a combination of key players in both the Singaporean and Kollywood movie landscape.
The film is slated for release during early part of 2015.
PLOT OUTLINE
‘Chennai Singapore’ is a romcom set predominantly in Singapore where the protagonist from Chennai makes his way to Singapore in search of better opportunities.
He ends up meeting a girl, who is also originally from Chennai but their love story is destined to begin in Singapore and they are set to begin a madcap emotional roller-coaster ride.
PROJECT DETAILS
The progress of the first schedule of Chennai Singapore is being filmed in and around Chennai now. The crew will be beginning the Singapore schedule in October 2014.
Sathya who had been the talking point of the industry thanks to Amarakaviyam produced by his brother Arya, plays the lead. He will be paired opposite Hebah Patel,the pretty girl playing the role of the Islamic girl in Thirumanam Enum Nikkah.
National award winner Praveen KL will be wielding the scissors in the project and is the editor of the film. Mukesh, the man behind the visuals of ‘Andhra Mess’ is the cinematographer.
Ghibran, who has been topping the charts with his hit numbers from Thirumanam Enum Nikkah, Amarakaaviyam and Run Raja Run is set to spin his magic again for Chennai Singapore. This will be the second time Sathya and Ghibran are paired together in a movie, Amarakaaviyam being the first.
Abbas Akbar, a debutante film director is directing the movie, having penned the story and dialogues himself as well.
